Adams and Hancock Volunteers Join Us!

Double wonderful news at the Advocacy Network for Children! Twenty new CASA Volunteers from Hancock County and Adams County were sworn in during the month of October. Twenty! So unbelievable that when we put out the call for help, our calls are answered by people with generous hearts. We are so thankful for them. If you see them going about their daily lives, remember, you are looking at super heroes. At least, we think so.

Hope and Healing – Recovery from Trauma

Advocacy Network for Children is excited to offer a new, free support program in Adams County, IL! Please call and register prior to the first session.

Our program provides support to heal from the pain of sexual abuse and helps reunite your family. We want all individuals that have faced abuse, as well as their families, to receive treatment that will help mend the effects caused by sexual abuse.

The goal for this group is to reduce the stigma that comes with abuse services, gain support and build coping skills for children and their caregivers. Some topics we will cover in the meetings are common reactions to stress, feeling identification, relaxation and problem solving, and preparing for the future.

Program Information –

• Meetings are held once a week for six weeks
• After the six weeks, the program will meet once a month.
