CASA of Hancock County, a program of Advocacy Network for Children, will be hosting a “Pinwheel Planting” in honor of April being National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month. The event will take place at the Hancock County Courthouse in Carthage on Wednesday, April 7th, at 12:15 p.m. under the courthouse flag.
Each pinwheel planted will represent an abused and neglected child in Hancock County that CASA represents. Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions and at all levels of education. By rallying our neighbors, businesses, schools, friends and families, we can make a difference in the lives of these children. By promoting safety, awareness and dialogue, we can prevent abuse from happening in the first place and help keep our children safe.
