The Hancock County Children’s Advocacy Center provides a safe, child-friendly setting for children and families involved in child abuse investigations.
Located in Carthage, the CAC is located in a private area of the First Baptist Church, with a separate outside entrance at the rear of the building. This provides children and families with a private and secure environment when arriving for services. The facility is accessible to individuals with disabilities.
CAC staff work alongside law enforcement, child protection, prosecutors, medical and mental health professionals, victim advocates, and other community partners to provide a coordinated response to allegations of child abuse.
Families receive support throughout the process, including information and assistance, referrals to appropriate services and resources.
